In this video, Dr. Andrew Jones, DVM, discusses the controversial topic of Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein for pets. This food, which is marketed as a solution for dogs and cats with food allergies, contains hydrolyzed protein designed to be easier on sensitive stomachs. But is it truly the best choice? Dr. Jones examines potential side effects, including digestive issues like vomiting and diarrhea, thyroid concerns, bladder stone complications, blood sugar spikes, and even neurological effects like epilepsy. If you’re questioning whether this protein source is right for your pet, this video provides all the information you need.

Please make a video on dog allergies! I have a French bulldog rescue. She has non stop itching, so I put a cone on her. Her folds barely have any hair on it now. She constantly tries to find a way to itch. I am cleaning her with chlorhexdine wipes, she has an antibiotic ointment prescribed, she’s been on allergy oral pills prescribed. Nothing seems to help. I don’t feed her chicken. I don’t know what to do she looks so uncomfortable! I just want the itching and the folds to get better.
A mis gatitos los extriñio el Royal canin hidrolizado, saludos desde CDMX.
I understand this video is a year old, but what would you suggest as an alternative? My cat has IBD/ Food allergies. I have tried everything. This food was our last resort. She seemed to be doing well but started having the same symptoms after the 1st bag. She just started sneezing, vomiting and having diarrhea again. I don’t know what to feed her now. We also tried Forta Flora, but she developed an awful upper respiratory. Any suggestions? I don’t mind cooking for her, but I feel it will be a big shock to her system. Help!!
What should we use ?? How about science diet
What was the med? Abaquil?
