  1. A very important part is not being addressed. Moisture/water does not hydrate our animals, or us! Minerals hydrate not water. So give minerals right? Well the fact is most of us are low in silica and you can’t absorb any minerals if your low in silica, (that’s a whole other convo!) So a great and cheap way to start is giving them and yourself diamataceous earth for a little bit and hen start taking your minerals. Freeze dried sea moss is a great option but you can have all the moisture you want in your food but if you don’t have minerals, your not hydrating. In fact your getting more dehydrated becaise the water will strip your minerals. BTW he woof Creek products are amazing and really helping my allergy dog!

  3. Re copper what about the effect of genetic markers for Copper storage disease can you talk about these Copper Toxicosis (Accumulating)
Copper Toxicosis (Attenuating) Copper Toxicosis (Accumulating) Both effects as carrier and as affected

    Scientific Basis
Copper toxicosis is a condition in which affected dogs have difficulty excreting excess copper from their liver. The liver accumulates
more copper until it eventually begins failing. Multiple genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of this
    condition.
When signs & symptoms develop in affected dogs
    Signs typically develop in adults.
    How vets diagnose this condition
Genetic testing, blood work, abdominal ultrasound, and surgical biopsy are all used to diagnose this condition.
    How this condition is treated
Treatment includes a low copper diet and medical management to help bind excess copper. Antioxidant supplements may also be
    considered.
Actions to take if your dog is affected
Please consult your veterinarian for dietary advice and follow their recommendations for monitoring.

  4. Dr. Judy, you said you had a dog with over 80 lipomas. I thought lipomas were the big fatty balls under the skin. My poodle has over a dozen bumps on top of her skin. They look like little fatty warts, and they bleed if i accidentally scrape them with the brush. My groomer called them skin tags and said they are very common in poodles. I’ve had 3 poodles before this rescue, and none of them had these bumps. Can lipomas be small bumps on the skin? Thank you for all the great information, I really appreciate it 😊
