ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Glucosamine For Dogs
Three of the best supplemental sources of natural glucosamine come from the following:

GREEN LIPPED MUSSEL: is natures anti inflammatory for joints and arthritis relief.

The green lipped muscle or GLM comes from the waters around New Zealand and has been is use as a remedy by the Maoris for hundreds of years. GLM has only recently become popular in the west due to its highly beneficial anti-inflammatory properties from tests on dogs.

Half of all dogs over the age of eight start to develop arthritis in their joints, particularly the elbows, knees and hips. Traditional drugs are expensive and lead to distressing side effects, creating new problems in other parts of the body. GLM as a natural food source brings welcome relief.

GLM can be obtained as an extract in powdered form. The best brand will have been processed without heat extraction for better quality nutrients.

A general rule of thumb is 150mg of powdered extract per 10lbs of your dogs lean body weight per day.

If you don’t see improvement after one month of use, you’ll need to up the amount by 25%. As your dogs condition improves, you can lower the dose to the starting amount.

GLUCOSAMINE sulphate generally comes in powdered capsule form or as coated tablets. You can also get it as dog chews (see links above). Make sure it’s glucosamine sulphate from a quality brand as many inferior brands use other binding agents as fillers so you don’t really get the correct amounts of glucosamine.

Your dog needs about 200mg per 10lbs of lean body weight. Simply add to your dogs daily food.
Glucosamine is safe and if your dog is badly arthritic, you can safely double the dose. Continue supplementation for life. Glucosamine has proven very effective for arthritic dogs.

BONE BROTH: is a delicious and inexpensive way to give your dog a nutritious boost to their diet. It provides welcome relief to a compromised digestive system and a sensitive tummy.

Bone broth also aids in detoxing your dogs liver, boosting their immune system, protecting joints and is packed with vitamins, minerals, gelatin, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and glycine to aid digestion.

In short, bone broth is super easy to make and creates a powerhouse super food dogs really benefit from consuming.

As well as making bone broth to use fresh, you can freeze portions as highly nutritious meals ready to mix into the diet and for healing gastrointestinal issues.

  2. Hey there thank you so much for the video! I have a 3 year old 95 pound tall lean German shepherd Husky mix. He’s very big and strong but lean and muscular. He eats whole hearted whole grain Kibble and I make him fresh brown rice to go with it. He always has lots of energy! He gets two long runs every day one in the morning and one in the evening. He gets lots of exercise and loves to hang out with me outside! I’m telling you all this so you can have as much information as possible. I wanted to start giving him Glucosamine supplements to help reduce the chances of joint and hip problems in his future what would you recommend? He hasn’t had any health problems before and his joints are very strong and healthy but I want to keep it that way! Thank you again for your time and for all the information!

  3. Hi Dan, my dog is 6.5 years old and she is overweight. I’m afraid she may have joint issue when she gets old. Is it good if I start giving her GLM now as preventive action?
